EVOLUTION
Day 11- Tikaalik: Triumph of a Theory
Think/Discuss:
I feel like the criticism can be considered both valid not valid. It depends on how you look at the issue. If you are someone that doesn’t believe evolution, perhaps they need a lot more evidence to agree with evolution. They may have spent their whole lives believing evolution is not true and if the missing links were filled they would begin to believe evolution. On the other hand, there is still a lot of evidence for evolution.

Reflect/Journal:
I can never forget Neil Shubin. The best thing about this module was hearing his story. It really inspired me because it tells me to never give up. Shubin had the right to give up, he spent so many years of his life in the Arctic, a place where few would actually want to go with its extreme temperatures. Even though he spent that long in the Arctic and he never got the results he wanted, he never gave up. It took about 20 years for him to accomplish his lifelong goal and to publish his report. That to me is just amazing because he was running out of money but eventually he did, he made a remarkable breakthrough in science. These stories are the kinds that tell me to never give up. I enjoyed the Cosmos episode because I actually learned a lot and Neil deGrasse Tyson is an all-around cool guy. I felt that the videos were unnecessary, one was fine but there was no point in the second video because it discussed the same things. But overall this was probably my favourite module.
